Where is Sea Star

Greetings from windy Calvi,
I’m sure you have been wondering why you have not seen any recent position reports or had any new updates since Herb & Shelley arrived. Well contrary to what many of you probably think, we are not in an alcohol induced stupor from drinking Mojitos. Sea Stars, Pietra beer and French wine, we are actually stuck in Calvi. Three low pressure fronts in a row have brought unheard of winds blowing from the SW at 20 to 30 knots day after day after day into Calvi Bay. We are on a mooring and in an extremely protected harbor so no worries, outside the harbor the Med is a white frothy sea with wind in the 40 knot range. This has been going on since July 5, when Herb & Shelly arrived (hmmmmm!). We are expecting a break on Saturday and may be able to head south.
.
Tuesday afternoon we took the train back to Ile Rousse. The train follows the coast part of the way and stops to let off beach goers. When we anchored in Ile Rousse on our way here there were 5-6 boats anchored in the harbor, when we visited it this time by train there were more than 30 boats there waiting out the wind.
On Wednesday we rented a car and traveled inland to some small villages in the mountains, beautiful and definitely off the tourist route. Pictures from the trip in the attached slideshow.
There have been a number of brush fires lately, not good with this much wind. We have watched the firefighting plane swoop down into Calvi Bay and pick up water then drop the water on the fire, very cool to witness close up. One plane flew over Sea Star repeatedly as it picked up water.
As you may suspect after doing & seeing pretty much what Calvi has to offer, our cork collection has expanded at an alarming rate. The weather, except for the wind, company, food and drink have been exceptional and even though we had hoped to be near Bonafacio by now, this is a good place to be.

P.S. There are two slideshows attached, one is pictures I took and the second Herb's pix.
