Update 14

Bonjour,
We are in Bonafacio, an incredible old town located at the southern tip of Corsica perched on huge natural limestone cliffs over the sea. Bonifacio has been identified with the harbor of the Laestrygonians in the Odyssey. Before arriving in Bonafacio we made a stop in Ajaccio and then worked down the coast stopping in a small bay called Anse de Roccapina. Along this part of the coast there are huge boulders carved by the wind and sea into amazing sculptures. On a hill overlooking the bay was an old stone building that had remarkable stone work still standing after who knows how many years. The water was crystal clear as always. As we travel around Corsica no two spots have been the same, it is a truly beautiful place to see by boat. This is our last night in Corsica and so France. Friday we sail 10 nautical miles across the straits of Bonifacio to Sardinia, Italy. Some strong wind is expected from the west later Friday so we want to get on the east side of Sardinia in a sheltered anchorage.
