Family Athletes

Prologue. Most families have one, maybe two exceptional athletes. Sally and I share a significant number of family "Super Star Athletes"! The following comprise belief resumes of these exceptional athletes. (To avoid hard feelings, they are not listed by comparative rankings, but chronologically).

 

 

 

A). Fred Douglas Coppock. If one considers fishing athletic, granddad was the king. Canada, Florida, Ohio lifetime enthusiast. Bestfisherman I ever met!

 

 

B). Robert Hogeboom 1. Top golfer! Sally's father won the Kansas, the Missouri, and the Oklahoma, state golf championships. He had a major tournament in California named in his honor.

 

C). Mike Thieme. (cousin). Multi- talented. At age 74 he set the Guinness Book of Records as the oldest man to ever climb Mount Kilimanjaro. Afterthe record was broken by another person,Mike returned at 82 and came within a couple hundred yards of repeating the feat.

 

 

 

 

 

D). Billy Stroud. (My sister Martha's first husband). US national nine ball pool champion. (Also handcrafted best pool players cues in America).

 

 


 

E). Robert Hogeboom 2. Athlete extraordinaire! Baseball Stanford and Dodgers prospect! Basketball Stanford! And topnotchgolfer! *insert Letter to Bob sm with full popup Dodgers.

 

 

 

 

F). Peter Brumbaugh. Multi- talented superior athlete. Prep school, Westminster, Captain of the basketball team. Tulane University walk on number three varsity quarterback. Top senior tennis player.

 

 

 

 

 

G). Sam Brumbaugh. Another multi- talented superior athlete. Capt. prep school, St. Albans, football team. Member of best area high school, champion baseball team. College rugby.

 

 

 

H). Robert Hogeboom 3. Top California State ranked high school baseball player. College baseball and Cincinnati Reds try out! (New father and, excellent outdoor cook)

 

 

 

 

 

I). Christina Brumbaugh. Pianist, artist, disc jockey radio, charm school, woman of all seasons! Most of all, himcaptain Bronxville high school tennis team. College tennis N.Y.U.

 

 

 

 

J). Alexandra Brumbaugh. (Little sister). Superior scholar, (chronic S A T exam taker). Bronxville high school tennis team captain. Top ranked, undefeated doubles team senior year. College, cross-country skier?

 

 

 

 

 

I). Rowan Brumbaugh. ◁ Click link for scouting video! (Against grandfather's advice, chose basketball over tennis.) Star in the making! 16-year-old, 6'4" point guard; ranked one of the top in the country. Being "chased" by a large number top ranked of colleges! Stay tuned!

 

 

 

 

 

 

J). Tess Brumbaugh. Dancer Supreme. She went from being top gymnast into becoming a top dancer, modern dance, ballet. Now top water skier!

 

 

 

 

 

K) Marybeth Scollard. Dancer Supreme; Houston ballet. Now top horseback rider and cowgirl, one of Wyoming's best rodeo prospects!

 

 


Distant Seconds; Family Athletes.

A). Sally Brumbaugh. Main athletic endeavor pushing a paintbrush for one of her paintings. Childhood exercises, walking Paris with her mother.

B). Fred Brumbaugh. Relegated to the scrum, Princeton rugby. {Encouraged to take a shower afterwards}. Child sports activities, hunting mushrooms, and gigging frogs.
